This policy explains how Shimek Strategic LLC handles information collected through this website and how you can manage your cookie choices. For privacy questions or requests, email steve@shimekstrategic.com.

Information we collect

• Inquiries: your first and last name, email address, company, message, submission time, newsletter-email preference, and the consent statements shown with the form.
• Website attribution: when optional cookies are enabled, we record your first visit, subsequent page visits, referral URLs, campaign parameters such as UTMs, advertising click identifiers, and the page where you submit an inquiry. A random cookie identifier connects these visits in this browser. Our first-party attribution system removes unrelated URL query parameters and fragments. Please do not put sensitive information in URLs or campaign parameters.
• Analytics, advertising, and business visitor identification: we use Google Tag Manager, Factors.ai, Aggle's on-site tracker, and ZoomInfo WebSights. These services may receive visited URLs, referrers, IP addresses, cookie identifiers, and browser or device information, and may associate visits with a business or organization. Third-party tags may process more URL information than our first-party attribution system.
• Security and delivery: the website and its service providers process technical information, including IP addresses and request information, to operate the site, prevent abuse, verify forms, and deliver notifications. Our application uses hashed client-address keys for rate limiting. We also retain notification delivery status and provider message identifiers.

How we use information

We use inquiry information to respond to you, discuss relevant services, maintain business correspondence, and operate our website securely. We use attribution and analytics to understand how visitors find us and which pages and campaigns lead to inquiries.

Submitting the contact form authorizes us to contact you about that inquiry. It does not subscribe you to unrelated marketing emails. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from contacting us.

The optional newsletter checkbox is separate from permission to respond to your inquiry and from cookie preferences. If you check it, we record your permission to receive Shimek Strategic newsletters by email. We use Zoho Campaigns to manage newsletter subscriptions and provide your email address, first and last name, and website signup source to that service. Leaving it unchecked does not grant newsletter permission and does not change an existing subscription. To stop newsletter emails, use an unsubscribe link in a newsletter or email steve@shimekstrategic.com.

Cookies and first-touch capture

This website uses an opt-out model: optional analytics and attribution cookies are enabled when you arrive, before you select a cookie preference. We record the first landing page and available referral or campaign information at that time. Selecting Reject all stops further optional tracking, removes the attribution cookie, and deletes the unsubmitted visit history associated with that browser identifier.

The shimek_attribution cookie contains a random identifier, not your contact details. Its window ends 180 days after the first touch and is not extended by subsequent visits. Following a successful form notification, we reset this identifier and retain the submitted attribution snapshot with your inquiry.

The shimek_cookie_preference cookie remembers your choice for 180 days. This preference cookie and essential security functions remain active when you reject optional cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may process browser and device signals and use essential storage to protect forms. Authentication cookies are used for staff access where applicable.

Optional measurement tags may set their own analytics or advertising cookies with provider-specific lifetimes. Rejecting optional cookies disables Google Tag Manager, Factors.ai, Aggle, and ZoomInfo on subsequent page loads and removes common analytics and advertising cookies accessible to this site. The page reloads if tracking scripts have already loaded. Your choice does not retract information already sent to providers or remove cookies belonging to other websites.

Deleting or blocking cookies, using private browsing, or switching devices can change what history is available. If you later accept optional cookies, tracking can begin again; previously deleted visit history is not restored. Your choice applies to this browser.

Service providers and disclosure

We use Cloudflare for website hosting, data storage, and form security; Resend to deliver email notifications; and Google, Factors.ai, Aggle, and ZoomInfo for the measurement and visitor-identification activities described above. These providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Inquiry notifications sent to our designated recipients may include the submitted attribution history. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

Links to other websites, including LinkedIn and our client portal, are subject to those services' own privacy practices.

How long we keep information

Unsubmitted attribution journeys expire 180 days after their first touch. Expired journey records are removed when a new journey starts; on an inactive site, removal may occur later. Rejecting optional cookies removes the current unsubmitted journey. Successfully submitted inquiries, their consent wording, and any attribution snapshot are retained separately for responding to inquiries, business recordkeeping, and applicable legal obligations. The 180-day attribution window is not an automatic deletion deadline for submitted inquiries or email copies.

Your privacy requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information. Email steve@shimekstrategic.com to make a request or ask us to stop contacting you. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required or permitted by law. Changing your cookie choice does not automatically delete previously submitted inquiries or notifications.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information through the contact form.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as our services or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
